More learning simulations that place students in authentic roles (scientist, explorer, social scientist, etc.), are collaborative / competitive, and allow teachers the flexibility to easily integrate different types of content depending on the teacher's need.
Harness the same powerful psychological hooks games like FarmVille and World of WarCraft use to make education more engaging for students. I don't mean actual "games" in the traditional sense, but rather just dividing up course material into smaller "levels", with points and "badges" awarded.
